Education

I graduated from St. Andrew's Episcopal School in 2011 and from Millsaps college in 2015 with a BS in Biochemistry and Spanish. I am currently attending medical school at UMMC and am in my final year.

Experience

I have been tutoring through University Tutor for about 4 years now. My SAT score was 2140, my ACT score was 32, I have taken the Spanish SAT II Subject Test and I scored 660 and I have also taken the Math Subject Test and scored a 700. I have taken AP exams in Physics and Spanish on which I scored 4's. I've received awards for Algebra II and AP Spanish in high school. I've traveled and studied abroad in Nicaragua and Mexico for my Spanish experience and I've also been certified as a Spanish translator at UMMC. During my time in college, I received various awards for Spanish, Physics and Chemistry. I ended my college career with a 3.985 cumulative gpa and was salutatorian for my college class. I am currently in the top 12% of my medical school class in terms of overall grades. As for recent tutoring experience, I have tutored several students in Spanish, physics and chemistry and am now serving as a biochemistry and physiology tutor at UMMC. I've tutored people of all age groups, ranging from high school and middle school students all the way to senior citizens and graduate students! I'm always willing to help and I love teaching my students as best I can!

Hobbies

I love to teach students and help them find the best learning method that works for them! I'm currently studying to become a physician and I'm planning on teaching medical students in the future. Right now I'm leaning towards going into cardiology at a research facility where I would get to work with medical students and teach/give many lectures. Some of my hobbies include exercising (I'm huge on sports and the gym!), watching movies, reading, traveling, fantasy football and socializing with friends. I will try my hardest to teach my students because their success is of the utmost importance to me. I'm a very patient teacher because I understand how hard a particular subject can be for some students (I had my fair share of academic struggles too so it's easy to see things from their perspective). Nevertheless, I also believe everyone is capable of excelling academically. Some students are more gifted than others but everyone has their strengths and weaknesses and if one works hard enough, they can truly succeed. All it takes is a good work ethic and dedication! In terms of timings, I'm very flexible and understanding with my tutoring appointments and I'll always be available for any kind of assistance needed outside of tutoring sessions via phone calls or face timing, Skype, etc. My prices for tutoring sessions are always open to negotiation as well.
